Is this Mine Training open to people not from PA?
ReplyDeleteThis is a federal program, open to anyone in any state, however, be advised that while 40 hrs. training is required in most states, West Virginia requires 80 hrs.
ReplyDeleteThis mining training course seems to give an edge professionals.A lot of things seem to be covered but will this have an international appeal? I mean to say if this competitive enough with the rest of the world?
ReplyDeleteFirst, let me say I appreciate your comments. This training is a requirement under Title 30 Code of Federal Regulations. It is intended to prepare aspiring miners of what to expect in an underground coal mine and to teach what to do and what not to do. As far as internationally, I do understand that coal mines in many other countries to not have the same safety precautions as here in the U.S. Perhaps if training such as that required under Title 30 Part 48 is required internationally, many accidents will be eliminated.
DeleteThanks again for your comments.
I think its fantastic that people still work in the mines, I think it is such an interesting job to be able to do"
